Why did you choose the U of A?

I chose the U of A because it has an amazing engineering college and an outstanding honors college. I knew I would have incredible opportunities here.

Why did you choose your major/focus?

When choosing a major, I wanted to choose something that would allow me to use my love for math and science to benefit people. I wanted to conduct pharmaceutical research and thought a chemical engineering degree was the best path for me to achieve that goal.

What are your future plans and how did your college experience help shape them?

I plan to begin work on a doctorate degree in chemical engineering beginning in the fall. Throughout my time here at Arkansas I have had many different opportunities including participating in undergraduate research. This experience helped me realize that I love conducting research and would like to be a professor, so I can not only conduct research, but also influence future students to reach their full potential. (I will decide which school I am attending by the end of the week.)

Do you have any words of wisdom for your fellow students?

Talk to your professors. They want to see you succeed. Also, take advantage of the opportunities presented to you even if it’s not something you’d ever considered previously.
