The Nanoscale Material Science and Engineering Building is an exciting addition to campus with many innovative characteristics. Because of the atomic-level research that takes place in the building, it was built with special specifications such as vibration isolation, electromagnetic wave isolation, ultra-sensitive temperature control and a class 100 clean room. The facility has 20 different instruments, some of them world-class, available to campus faculty and students and to industries in Arkansas and the surrounding area. The building also includes special rooms where student researchers can brainstorm ideas, develop technology and business plans and create and test new nanostructures.
