Sherman Black is a 1987 graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Engineering. He, along with his wife, Lynnette, a graduate of the Sam M. Walton College of Business the same year, made a gift of $250,000 to support scholarships in both colleges.
The scholarships will be awarded to graduates of Greenwood High School who have an interest in business or engineering and have financial need. Preference will be given to students who are first-generation college attendees, and scholarship recipients will be expected to maintain a 3.0 grade point average to be considered for renewed support.
Black is the president and chief executive officer of Rimage Corp. in Minneapolis, Minn., a provider of digital publishing infrastructure and solutions.
